The BIS Registration Department of the Bureau of Indian Standards issued updated guidelines on the "Adapters for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances" standard on November 27, 2024. A notice correcting the deadline was posted on Nov. 29. The guidelines, which set out the revisions to the new standards and how to apply for new targets, are effective from the date of publication.

Test standard update:

The test standard has been upgraded from the original IS 302-1:2008 to IS 302 (Part 1):2024 /IEC 60335-1:2020. At present, the new and old standards will be combined until February 23, 2026, after which the old standard IS 302-1:2008 will be invalid.
