In the "Relevant Inspection Regulations for Placed lithium energy storage Device Commodities Subject to Inspection" and "Relevant Inspection Regulations for Power Conversion System Commodities Subject to Inspection" published by BSMI of the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs on December 20, 2024, energy storage devices (battery capacity below 20kWh) and power conversion systems (PCS) are included in the scope of BSMI inspection. These two products will be mandatory on July 1, 2026
As early as 2022, BSMI has incorporated energy storage cells and battery systems into the VPC voluntary certification scope of this mandatory energy storage system, and has also made requirements for internal lithium cells and battery systems
