On December 12, 2024, BSMI of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan issued the revised draft of the "Relevant Inspection Regulations for General Household Appliances for Test Inspection", in addition to the earlier provisions to strengthen the control of charging goods. The lithium batteries of 7 items of rechargeable products such as electric insect traps (including electric mosquito swatters), electric blankets, personal electric thermal appliances, electric blankets, coffee bean grinders, electric shavers, and electric hair clippers should be included in the scope of inspection.

Standard requirements:

If the rechargeable product has a secondary lithium battery, the cell shall comply with CNS 15364 (102nd edition), and the battery shall comply with CNS 62133-2 (107th edition) section 7.3.8.1 "Vibration" and section 7.3.8.2 "mechanical shock", or comply with the requirements of the more recent relevant national and international standards.

This amendment will be officially implemented on the date of announcement, and the above seven rechargeable products on secondary lithium batteries will be enforced on July 1, 2026.
